Training Philosophy

My approach to training and coaching stems from my own experience and passion for the game. Throughout my career, I’ve had strong coaches that have shown me discipline, work-ethic, and how to respect the game. I have also had coaches that made it hard to show up to the ballpark. I understand the influence coaches have on their players’ passion. By becoming a lifelong student of baseball, I’ve learned the importance of balancing the desire to win with the need to enjoy your time on the field.

I took two years off because my love for the game weakened. I had just gotten out of college and was disappointed in where baseball had taken me. Once I realized I had full control over my actions and aspirations for the game, I pursued and achieved my goals. In the disciplined routine, the ongoing study, and the time spent with other players, I have seen the value in the ability to adapt and adjust not just within the game of baseball, but in life as well.

My philosophy is if you care and work hard enough, there will always be a path for you. Through training with me, players will better understand themselves on and off the field. Baseball shows players that you get what you give, and how that translates to life.

Mentality
& Workouts

Pitching

Having pitched professionally, I know first hand how mental the mound can be. My mentality on the mound is presence, dominance, and patience. Pitching is the Art of Deceiving the hitter. Every pitcher has a different mentality and it’s never as simple as “just throw strikes”—but you wont find your mentality if you aren’t able to find yourself on the mound. Through working and training with me, we will develop not just mechanics but attitude, mentality, and presence on the mound.

Throwing Program

Over the years, my experience as a player, extensive research, and collaboration with throwing partners have given me a deep understanding of how the arm works and how to optimize throwing performance. My throwing program is designed to build arm strength, speed, and precision across all positions, focusing on mechanics that enhance natural motion while ensuring proper care.

Hitting

Approach, strategy, and consistency are the three key factors to focus on when it comes to hitting mentality. Knowing what you’re going to do in the box and executing it is great, but what gets a player into that mindset? That is the question we answer with drills and live work to better understand what we need to do to be a great hitter.

Catching

Catching has always been my passion. I’ve had the honor of working with Hall of Famers like Johnny Bench and Buster Posey, as well as current Major League players. Catchers are a different breed—they put their bodies on the line, stay absolutely focused, and know every detail about the game in front of them. Mentality behind the plate requires attention to detail, sacrifice, and routine. My training helps players develop a deeper understanding of the role, how to be a leader, and how to continuously study the game.
